Billing & Subscriptions
Shardlyn uses Stripe for paid subscription management. This guide covers plans, billing, trials, and subscription management.
Plans
Shardlyn offers Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Pro supports monthly and annual billing. See Pricing for the public overview.
| Plan | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Evaluation, hobby projects, and small deployments |
| Pro | From $59/month | Growing communities and teams needing automation and higher limits |
| Enterprise | Custom | Large organizations, custom SLA |
Trial Behavior
New accounts begin with a 14-day Pro trial. If no paid subscription is started, the organization automatically downgrades to Free after the trial ends.
Subscription Management
Viewing Your Subscription
Navigate to Settings > Billing to see:
- Current plan and status
- Usage against plan limits (nodes, instances, storage)
- Next billing date
- Payment method on file
- Billing interval (monthly or annual)
Upgrading Your Plan
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select the new plan
- Confirm the upgrade
Upgrades take effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
Switching Billing Interval (Monthly / Annual)
If your plan supports annual billing, you can switch intervals from Settings > Billing.
- Switching to annual typically applies a discount compared to paying monthly for 12 months.
- Proration is handled by Stripe and depends on your current period and remaining balance.
Downgrading Your Plan
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select the lower plan
- Confirm the downgrade
WARNING
Before downgrading, ensure your current usage is within the new plan's limits. If you have more nodes or instances than the new plan allows, you'll need to remove some before the downgrade takes effect.
Cancelling Your Subscription
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Your account remains active until the end of the current billing period
After cancellation, your paid subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. If you continue on a lower plan, ensure usage fits the new limits.
Plan Limits
Each plan has resource limits:
| Resource | Free | Pro | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Members per Organization | 3 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Nodes | 1 | 15 | Unlimited |
| Instances per Node | 2 | 20 | Unlimited |
| Total Instances | 2 | 150 | Unlimited |
| Workloads | 5 | 100 | Unlimited |
| Backups per Instance | 0 | 10 | 25 |
| Backup Storage | 0 GB | 100 GB | 500 GB |
| Audit Log Retention | 3 days | 30 days | 1 year |
When you approach a limit, the dashboard displays a warning. If you reach a limit, you'll need to upgrade or free up resources to create new ones.
